Land Rover held a private preview for a lucky few of its upcoming Range Rover model that is not due for release until next year, describing the new model as the lightest, most fuel efficient, smallest Range Rover yet. It also announced that the new creative design director for the popular motor vehicle is that well know auto-design engineer Victoria Beckham.
The model, the Range Rover Evoque, was previewed on July 1st at the 40th anniversary celebration of the motor brand with the design director of Range Rover calling the new coupe an evolution of the contemporary Range Rover design.
Once released the vehicle will be available in 160 countries and is due to officially be unveiled on September 30th at the Paris Motor Show.
As a signs of evolving to meet the new demands of the market, Land Rover has shrunk the overall size of the model in every conceivable way including a fuel consumption of just under 130g per kilometre and both two and four wheel drive versions.
Pictures that have been circulating the web show the model with a rising waistline, a falling roof, and a sweep of glass that wraparounds the entire length of the vehicle.
The new design for the Evoque is based on the Rover LRX concept which made its appearance in 2008 as a sportier alternative to the larger Range Rover vehicles and likely will compete for consumers that enjoy the sleek small appearance of Jeep Cherokees.
The interior of the car will be designed exclusively by Victoria Beckham.
