ŠKODA is working with Positive Psychologist Miriam Akhtar to highlight how well-designed everyday products can contribute to our sense of wellbeing.
The new ŠKODA Fabia, the What Car? Car of the Year 2015, includes 19 ‘Simply Clever’ features that make life easier and less stressful. From easy-to-use smart technology to increased space and practicality, the new model is all about making everyday driving more pleasurable.
› Miriam Akhtar, Positive Psychologist and happiness expert, explains that the everyday products we use to enhance our daily lives can not only ease day-to-day activities, they can also raise our sense of wellbeing. Miriam says, “It is the small pockets of happiness rather than the peak moments of supreme joy in life that can accumulate to raise our level of wellbeing. The new ŠKODA Fabia brings to life positive design. Good design makes us feel good, as it makes our lives easier and more pleasurable. We are ultimately more content when everyday tools help us to feel more organised and satisfied. Nowadays, we need the products we rely on to work well, seamlessly adjusting to our 24-7 lives.”

The all new ŠKODA Fabia has ‘Simply Clever’ features including a DAB digital radio, Bluetooth, folding bag hooks and flexible storage in the boot, storage pockets on the inside edges of the front seats and front and rear door bottle holders, as well as the optional Simply Clever Pack that includes multimedia holder, rubbish bin in the door pocket and a net programme for the boot.
Attention to detail has become a passion for ŠKODA’s Chief Designer, Jozef Kaban. ŠKODA designed the new ŠKODA Fabia to be, in every respect, simply more car. Designed to perform as well on the inside as it looks on the outside, the new ŠKODA Fabia is not just a pretty face. The new model is set to redefine consumer expectations for quality, efficiency and design.
A young, small car with balanced proportions, crystalline forms and sharp lines, the new ŠKODA Fabia is the first ŠKODA ever to feature MirrorLink™ and SmartGate technology, connecting the smartphone to the vehicle.
› ŠKODA Product Marketing Manager Chris Horrell said: “The design of the new Fabia is significantly more emotive than before, featuring modern, sharp design language and dynamic proportions. The interior has also been completely redesigned and offers an array of customisation options. As Miriam highlights, the new ŠKODA Fabia not only looks good but it also offers sophisticated technology with simplicity – exactly what we all need in today’s hectic lifestyles.”
